Ha hecho mucho tiempo...

It has been a while; sorry about that. One thing that is interesting/different about our education is a lack of syllabi. We don't really have a schedule for our classes, so, for instance, I could be assigned homework one day that is due the next. I'm not accustomed to experiencing this at Taylor; I'm accustomed to having an idea of which nights will be busy and which will be free. Also, I never actually know from one day to the next if I will be going straight home or to my host-grandmother's house for an hour or so. Anyway, last week was just a little busier than I anticipated, so now I’m going to update you on the past couple of weekends. It is quite a lot to read, so feel free to space it out at your leisure.

Before you get to that, however, you need a little of the recent news: This past Thursday, after a fun evening making pizzas and my (world-)famous banana bread with the Taylor group, I got pretty sick in the middle of the night. Probably food poisoning or something. I sat around the house for a couple of days, pretty bummed to have missed the brigade on Saturday in a nearby village. But that’s ok. I got some much needed rest, and now I am feeling better.

The weather here has been getting chilly – it’s like fall in the States sometimes. I really like fall, but I wasn’t quite expecting that when I packed, so I sometimes need to be relatively creative with my layering. (I’m just really glad I have my fleece here with me.) This is one of those things about which we are going to alert future groups.

Well, due to some unexpected technical difficulty, I won’t be able to include pictures just yet. However, check back later on tomorrow to see if I will have been able to illustrate my stories with photographs.

Now back to the business at hand. Don't forget that the most recent entries are put at the top, so you have to work your way up. Get comfortable, take your little mouse (or touchpad), and scroll down to the entry called “Carnaval!” to begin your reading adventure.
